The Thompson Coburn Lobbying & Policy group live-tweeted the President's August 23 speech in Buffalo and collected reactions from some of the country's top higher-education scholars and leaders.

The speech was the kickoff to the President's two-day tour emphasizing college affordability with a high-profile speech at the State University of New York at Buffalo. Before a roaring crowd of college students, the president unveiled a proposal focused on shifting the conversation about higher education funding from student enrollment numbers to a qualitative analysis about how well universities actually prepare students for a 21st Century economy.
